“Cancelled Without Prejudice” is not just a bureaucratic term used when an embassy or consulate changes the current visa for correction or change of status.
It carries a profound meaning, much like the role of Jesus Christ in our lives.
For migrants or those travelling abroad, having the phrase stamped on your passport means that your other visas remain valid and do not prejudice future visa applications.
“Cancelled Without Prejudice” signifies that you have gotten a new visa that might be better than the preceding one.
In this season of Lent, I see Jesus Christ, his suffering, death and resurrection as God’s living “Cancelled Without Prejudice” stamp for us.
Imagine the joy and assurance that would fill your heart if you received a visa that ensures an indefinite stay in your chosen foreign land. Now, multiply that joy and assurance by infinity.
That’s the kind of joy and assurance we receive when granted a “Cancelled Without Prejudice” status from God, with the great assurance of infinite staying in Heaven.
Yes, there’s more to life than just getting an earthly visa and probably travelling around the world until you wear out and die.
As Buzz Lightyear of Toy Story would say, “To infinity and beyond”, let us take the chance to travel to infinity and beyond with God.
While embassies require many documents and fees, God asks for a contrite heart and a commitment to following Jesus Christ.
It’s a straightforward and accessible process.
It is free. No fees are required, for Jesus Christ has already paid the price.
Accepting Him as your Savior is a liberating and costless decision.
This righteousness is given to all who believe in Jesus Christ through faith.
There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22-24)
Accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord is not a complicated process. It starts with humility, acknowledging your sin, expressing your need for the Redeemer, and consciously accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord.
Let our sinful life be “Cancelled Without Prejudice” before God and become a citizen of Heaven.
