“Naga-atipan” is a song written in 1997. I placed a translation for our English-speaking friends and for Filipinos who aren’t adept in Hiligaynon, the major local language in Western Visayas, Philippines. The song is reflective of Luke 12:22-31 and Matthew 6:19-24.

Ngaa nga ikaw nagakabalaka?  (Why are you worried?)
Ngaa nga ikaw nagakasubo?  (Why are you sad?)
Ngaa nga ikaw nagakabalaka?  (Why are you worried?)
Kay Cristo bala may pagsalig ka?  (In Jesus, do you have trust?)

Si Cristo nagsiling,  (Jesus said,)
Ako ang magahatag  (I will give you)
Sang imo nga mga kinahanglanon.  (What you need.)

Tuluka bala ang mga pispis  (Look at the birds)
Sa kalangitan  (Of the skies)
Wala sila nagasab-og  (They don’t sow)
Pero ang Dios gid…NAGA-ATIPAN  (For the Lord God is taking care)

Naga-atipan (ang Dios)  (God is taking care)

Naga-atipan (ang Dios)  (God is taking care)
