But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
I posted “God things take time” on Facebook with the following thoughts in mind.
Often, we are so focused on having the “good” things in life that we want them to happen according to our will and time.
As God’s children, let us not forget that our focus must be on His things (God’s things) — which are “His Kingdom and His righteousness”, and all the good things will follow, as Matthew 6:33 says.
Furthermore, the Lord God has also His context of “all these things”. Remember Romans 8:28?
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
The Lord knows best.
Our trouble and disbelief begin when we fail to wait patiently for the Lord, and we only expect positive things from our point of view.
Pastor Christian Larry Kwe of Ajuy Baptist Church, Philippines, shares his encouragement.
Psalm 31:24 “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!”
“God things take time…” This is what Pastor Jonan Castillon posted a couple of years ago on his (Facebook) wall.
The LORD is our good and loving Father. He sees that when He blesses us and when He answers our prayers, we are ready for it.
That is why the Psalmist is telling us to wait for the LORD, and this Psalm also echoes Isaiah 40:31 –
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Always remember that God’s timing is always perfect. Never too soon, never late, but always on time.
He makes all things beautiful in His time.
That is why God things take time. 🙂
