Heavenly Father,
We come before You acknowledging that we live in a fractured and fallen world. People will inevitably let us down, and in our own weakness, we will sometimes fail others, too.
Forgive us when our expectations of human relationships have overshadowed our absolute dependence on You.
True, unchanging trust belongs to You alone.
Your Word reminds us in James 1:19-20 to “be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”
Lord, plant this truth deeply within our hearts. When others hurt or disappoint us, guard our hearts against reactive anger, bitterness, or pride.
Grant us the grace to pause, the patience to listen, and the wisdom to restrain our words.
Help us to extend the same mercy and understanding to others that we desperately need ourselves.
As we remain faithful and prayerful, we ask that You guide our relationships. Bring the right, trustworthy people into our lives—those who will sharpen us and walk alongside us in truth.
We thank You that when You guide our steps, our circle may become smaller, but the bonds we keep are deep, holy, and genuine.
Empower us by Your Holy Spirit to be the blessing, support, and reflection of Your love that our families, friends, and neighbours need.
Teach us to care for the people You have trusted us to love, always pointing them back to You.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
