The blog post, “Reasons for Beautiful Living in South Canterbury,” inspired support for the Multicultural Response Ministry.
Yes, it all began with that post, which allowed us to be featured first in our home region in the Philippines and then in Timaru.
In January 2013, The Timaru Herald published “Pastor’s Blog Becomes Ad for South Canterbury featuring how the blog post published in Panay News promoted South Canterbury further.
The article caught the attention of a person who read it. He contacted me to arrange a meeting. He got to know more about me and the multicultural ministry vision that I shared with him. Then the Lord God touched his heart and led him and his wife to commit to giving financial support to the ministry.
Looking for opportunities and in response to the “Tell-a-Friend Promote South Canterbury program, we started our online marketing company in May 2013.
On 9 August 2013, The Timaru Herald published “Pastor Spreads Word in His New Business” to highlight one result of the Tell-a-Friend Promote South Canterbury program.
Before we discussed any idea of creating our company, Online Writing Niche Ltd., an undertaking unfolded.
Through the pastor and Errol James, the Wilson Street Baptist Church supported holding the “Evening of Praise and Worship” on 20 April 2013, the first multicultural worship ever.
In the same month, we created the Multicultural Response website to provide an online presence for the ministry.
We held the second multicultural worship on 6 July 2012. We have set our sights on holding the third event in November 2013.
The church has considered creating a multicultural response team to encourage participation in pursuing the ministry’s vision.
As the song “Pass It On” says, “It only takes a spark to keep the fire going” I believe God has more things in store now that the multicultural response ministry has been started.
Isn’t it wonderful to see God’s hand working through His people and many avenues? He is always on the lookout for hearts committed and passionate to serving Him.
